Welcome to The Prancing Stag.

The Prancing Stag is an independent family-owned and run establishment in the heart of Jordanhill.

We opened in October 2019, and after having a positive first six months, we, like many other businesses in the world, were forced to close due to Covid-19.
You might think that our timing couldn’t have been worse to open a new restaurant, and in many respects that is true. However, being a neighbourhood restaurant, we have been really humbled by the local support of all our guests during the times we have been permitted to open over the last year. So to all who have visited, I’d like to say a huge thank you.

We’ve been extremely lucky to find a truly great head chef, who inspires and guides our kitchen team in preparing modern Scottish food with international inspiration. Using fresh and seasonal Scottish produce, great care has gone in to our menu which we hope will suit all tastes and occasions.

Our front of house staff strive to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy a meal with family, friends or colleagues. We would like our guests to have the best possible experience and are happy to discuss anything that would make your visit easier, more relaxed, more enjoyable or extra special.

We have a “Sitootery” - an outdoor seating area - where you can enjoy a drink and a nibble. Dogs on a lead are welcome in the outdoor area, however only Guide Dogs are permitted in the main restaurant.

We pride ourselves in making your visit personal to you, so we are delighted to cater for any allergies or dietary requirements. We can also amend menu items to suit children or those with a smaller appetite.
Our menu is complimented by an interesting and varied wine list, carefully selected following extensive discussion and some very enjoyably tasting sessions with the good people at Wine Importers.

When live sports and events are permitted again, we are perfectly located for a meal before a match, concert or event. We are just 25 minutes walk to Scotsoun Stadium (home to ​Glasgow Warriors) and on the door step of Jordanhill Train Station (7 minutes to the Scottish Event Campus, 10 minutes to Glasgow Queen Street and 11 minutes to Glasgow Central).

There is private car parking available. The restaurant is accessed directly from the car park and there are 8 steps leading to the main restaurant. Unfortunately we do not have a lift at present but please contact us should you wish to discuss any accessibility requirements.
